Cosmetic Dentures: Veneers

Having damaged, chipped, discolored, or misshapen teeth can lead to low self-esteem, problems eating and speaking, as well as more serious health problems down the road. Fortunately, there are several cosmetic dentistry procedures that can help you improve your smile. Here at Parkcrest Dental Group, we are happy to offer a solution with dental veneers.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers provide that natural look that many patients desire. Veneers consist of tooth-colored material that our dentist uses to shape a replica of the front side of a patient’s tooth (or teeth). If properly cared for, veneers can last for years, giving you many years of incredibly natural-looking, healthy smiles.

Dental veneers provide the same strength and caliber as natural tooth enamel, so you don’t have to worry about them breaking or inhibiting your normal eating routines.

Getting Dental Veneers: What to Expect

First and foremost, you’ll meet with your dentist at Parkcrest Dental Group for a consultation to determine if a cosmetic dentistry procedure, such as dental veneers, is the right choice for you. During this process, it’s important that you clearly communicate your smile goals and expectations. This will help your dentist provide you with the most viable options for your situation.

If and when you and your dentist decide that dental veneers are the best choice for you, a mold will be made of your teeth so the dentist can shape your custom veneers to snugly fit over the front side of your teeth. Once the veneers are ready to be placed, your dentist will begin the cosmetic dentistry procedure, prepping your teeth before carefully placing each veneer in its rightful place.

Once the procedure is complete, your dentist will provide you with plenty of information on how to care for your veneers. You’ll also need to return to our dental office in Springfield, MO, in about a week so your dentist can make sure you’re not having any issues with your veneers. Your dentist will also require you to return for routine check-ups and maintenance to keep your veneers in the best condition possible.
