Parkcrest Dental Group continues to deliver quality services to our patients. One innovation we’ve recently introduced to our office is the X-Guide system. The X-Guide uses non-invasive 3D imaging technology to give our doctors a complete view of a patient’s jaw before, during, and after dental implant surgery. There are several advantages to having this advanced dental technology at our office.
More Accurate and Precise Dental Implant Surgery
The machine delivers more than just a complete, high-resolution 3D image of the patient’s teeth, gums, and jaw. It allows for better placement and positioning of dental implants, which typically means less complicated prosthetics surrounding the implant.
What does this mean for our patients? Better outcomes, including more comfort, easier healing, and faster recovery time.
No Radiation Exposure
Using advanced 3D imaging technology, the X-Guide system uses no radiation whatsoever. Digital X-rays use minimal radiation compared to traditional X-ray film. However, even digital X-rays are limited to two dimensions. Coupled with advanced cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans, X-Guide gives your doctor a much more accurate representation of a patient’s teeth, jaw bones, gums, and cheeks, all without radiation exposure.
Precise Navigation During Dental Implant Surgery
The X-Guide system uses 3D imagery to guide the exact angle, depth, and position of a titanium implant in your jaw during surgery. The additional precision means less invasive surgery because there are fewer incisions to make in your gums. Your Parkcrest doctor will know exactly how to proceed with the turn-by-turn instructions and digital imagery on the screen.
Dental implant surgery will typically be less invasive, shorter, and less painful with the advanced X-Guide system.
Possible Same-Day Surgery After an Extraction
If your doctor determines you are a candidate for dental implant surgery, there is a possibility of having same-day surgery after an extraction. Usually, dentists perform an extraction and let it heal because the next appointment for dental implants will be to take a mold or 3D images of a patient’s teeth.
The X-Guide system removes the need to wait to take 3D images. You may need fewer appointments for dental implant surgery, depending on your treatment plan.
One thing to note is that this is for typical cases. Every patient is unique. Once a Parkcrest doctor assesses your mouth, teeth, and gums, the actual dental implant treatment time may vary from normal timeframes.
