What Are Shark Teeth?
“Shark teeth” is a term that refers to the double row of teeth that occur when a child has both adult teeth, or permanent teeth, and baby teeth, or primary teeth, at the same time. Shark teeth occur because baby teeth are not falling out rapidly enough to allow their permanent replacements to take their place. The baby tooth stays put, and the permanent teeth begin to emerge behind them. Where does this seemingly strange name come from? Well, sharks have two rows of teeth too!
